The JUNIOR Junior Welfare League
Young, but Strong.
The JUNIOR Junior Welfare League is looking for 6th-12th grade
girls who want to be Leaders and Doers in the Huntington community!
Our Mission:
Founded by the Junior Welfare League of Huntington
in 2010, the JUNIOR Junior Welfare League (JJWL) is a hands-on charitable club for girls in grades 6-12. The goal of the JJWL is to light a
spark of volunteerism in its young members and to teach them that helping
others in our community is not just a responsibility but a privilege. Like
its parent organization, the JJWL is grass roots club with 100% of funds raised
going straight back to the community to directly benefit our neighbors in
need.
Join us!
Membership dues are $20 per year with the year
running from September to June and all communication is via e-mail. Dues are used to purchase supplies for our various service projects with the remaining funds donated to a cause selected by JJWL members. Members
are encouraged to participate in as many service opportunities the club offers,
but are required to participate in at least 3 projects. A service opportunity is
offered approximately twice a month.
Partners:
Our members have performed more than 700 hours of community service since the club was founded! We help at places like the Carillion
Rehabilitation Center, Hilaire Nursing and Rehabilitation, Just for K.I.C.K.S.,
Huntington Head Start, Madonna Heights, Lewis Oliver Farm, Manor Field
Community Center, North Shore Holiday House, Tri-CYA Reading Circle, Project
H.O.P.E, Starflower Experience and the Town of Huntington, among others.
